Who we are
We're making it easier for engineers to build custom, internal software. Software has transformed industries, but it's currently too expensive to plan, build, and maintain. And that's a shame, because it's so useful! Our goal is to make this large class of software faster, cheaper, and more enjoyable to build. Because then we'll have a lot more of it, and that's a good thing.
We're based in San Francisco. Culturally, we're tightly knit, and spend most of our days either coding, eating, or playing bughouse. If we weren't part of Retool, we'd probably be friends anyways. (Many of us were.)
We like to build things. Fortunately, there's a lot to build at Retool. If we're not talking to customers, we're probably building features for them.

We work well with independent-minded engineers who enjoy building things, and are comfortable with significant responsibilities. At Retool, most product decisions are made by engineers (since our users are engineers!). So, ideally, you'd enjoy making product decisions as much as building them.

Are you an engineer interested in sales? Or a salesperson interested in selling to engineers? We like to think about sales like an engineering problem - where are the bottlenecks? If we have 10 ideas about how to increase revenue, which one has the highest expected payoff? We typically stack rank sales strategies, execute, and repeat. Is that something you'd find stressful?
We're profitable, and growing quickly.

Custom internal software is a huge and growing market, and we think Retool has a promising chance at capturing it. That relies on us moving quickly in all aspects, but primarily in product (design and engineering), as well as sales.
